This River Protests
This protest is a river.
Just as Tiber Creek rumbles under our feet, we will never be truly buried.
We are daylit dissent, never to be deleted or drowned.
This river protests, swirling and churning, releasing a rushing rewriting of the story.
A re-storying of who is culpable. We can see all those who are complicit and know who is to blame.
Our shared quintessence animated as the aggrieved residents of this place.
Both a collective and a catalyst, as a body we are glistening, glamorous, undeniable.
This river of resistance is transporting and transforming us into the radicals their stories warned against.
We join at the eddy-line. Flow, counterflow, overflow.
We note the damage, and carry its consequences to their shores.
You cannot care for those you do not see. You will see us.
You cannot understand those you cannot name. You will hear our names.
Let us flow with force. Let us join each other in a current of unavoidable presence.
We are the River Protest.
